No Eastbound lift service at Westferry
I thought lifts could only go up and down? ;D ;D

ISTR we had a thread on lifts going in odd directions a while back (cue Colin). Perhaps teh DLR have installed Sirius Cybernetics Corporation lifts!

It has been suggested that completely automated mini metro systems such as the VAL system, could be described as horizontal lifts.

Now you mention it, some of the little "people mover" trains at airports have a fairly strong resemblance to horizontal lifts. Hon Kong and Gatwick, for example.
