How are the adverts along the wall adjacent to the track (i.e the side opposite the platform) at tube stations put up? I've always assumed that whoever is responsible comes along with a special trolley/platform they put on the rails to give them a surface to work from during engineering hours?

Its some kind of mini scaffold tower. I have seen a ladder used before, resting in the anti suicide pit. I *think* the scaffold tower can be mounted on the rails and positioned as required. May be it is clamped to the running rails where the poster is being placed, but am not sure of these intricacies, because I have never seen it in close up....

The exact method varies from one location to another, but it is usually the scaffold tower. It goes without saying that this work only occurs at night, during engineering hours

At my station its ladders, no tower or similar equipment is used. All of this type of work is carried out by giant, Viacom.
