Hainault loop closure - East end RAT

Over the next two weekends Hainault depot will be inaccessible from either end, due to the engineering works.

Does anyone know what will happen to the RAT during this period? Will it stable in the sidings at Woodford or Loughton when it is not running between Epping and Leytonstone? Or will it be kept at Hainault, with no runs scheduled for the weekends?

If trains cannot go to the Hainault depot - my suggestion is they should terminate anywhere that has a siding like Marble Arch, North Acton, or better, go to the White City depot. I was scared, because it said HAINAULT LOOP CLOSURE - I thought it was going to close permanently!

Stabling trains in Marble Arch, Holborn or Liverpool Street sidings wouldn’t be a good idea as the TOps would have to book-on at White City or Leytonstone, get a staff taxi or the first train to the station and then get the juice switched off so they could walk over the track to the train. The same would apply with putting the train away and getting the TOps back in time to book off.

Apart from that I’m not sure if the train maintainers could fully prep the trains in the confined space.

During the Olympics we did leave trains on the platforms at Loughton and Leytonstone, running them empty from West Ruislip after the close of traffic. The night shift TOp who usually covers the last and first trains at Hainault will be at Woodford during the blockade and some people aren’t happy with the idea as Woodford station is rather short of space.

I forgot another depot, the one at West Ruislip! LOL. Can they use the West Ruislip depot for stabling the trains? I think that's the best option.

Hainault Depot will only be inaccesible Saturday 27th, Sunday 28th, Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th. Weekdays during the closure trains are still running to Grange Hill via Woodford where they can access the Depot.

I know it will be only closed on those two weekends. So at those weekdays, the south part of the depot won't be accessible?

I beleive the reason for the closures is to replace all the points in and around the hainault area, by that I take it too mean the points too and from the depot at the southern end and the crossovers too the south of the station. Hence trains will not be able to exit the depot from the south on weekdays. Going back to the question I take it as the RAT's run on ATO, they could if necessary run to and from west ruislip depot in traffic hours if they needed a top up of sandite solution, because the train could be out for 11 hours a day (split into 4 runs) so it maybe necessary to make a run like that during traffic hours, if I am honest I think the train will be down in one of the sidings at the easten end of the line just so the whole operation is made alot easier.

Remember that the RATs have to be filled up with Sandite in depot between duties so they can't just be outstabled in tunnel sidings instead.

Could anyone provide the service frequencies for the other services while the closure is taking place. By the looks of it, it looks like a complex service.

From what I'm seeing, there's a visible lack of sandite on the rails up the east end of the line, what are they doing with the RAT whilst the closure is happening then?
