There are no plans to reinstate a passenger service to Ongar, but I am not aware of the main reason why the connection was reinstated. Well, that's a good enough answer for me. Personally i think it's a shame, but i guess they have their reasons.

Is there a possibility of the EOR operating into Epping now that the connection has been reinstated?

I would imagine there are lots of legal hurdles to overcome before EOR stock uses Epping Station. As Epping is only two platforms, you would really need a third one to accommodate EOR services, is there space at Epping?

Could the two be isolated from each other for the day? (probably a weekend, when the EOR is likely to have more custom and the Central rather less than a Mon-Fri peak)

Could the two be isolated from each other for the day? (probably a weekend, when the EOR is likely to have more custom and the Central rather less than a Mon-Fri peak) Well, platform 1 (which is the one the old Ongar branch leads immediately into, with points connecting it to platform 2) is used very intensively, as is platform 2. Because of demand, a lot of trains throughout the day run all the way through to Epping. Looking at the WTT, taking the time around midday on Sunday, we have trains arriving: 11 37¼ (2) 11 41¾ (1) 11 48¼ (2) 11 59¼ (2) 12 03¾ (1) with very approximately 10 minute turnarounds (8 minutes, 9¼, 9, 8, 9¼, respectively). You'd never get away with making Epping one platform for the Central and I don't think it'd every be happy sacrificing its second either - not to mention all of the legal and financial issues. I mean there's 27 road - the siding outside of the station - but even then I think if you were gonna do it, you'd have to build a new platform and I really don't think there's the will or the way.

CHT 1960 Stock and another 1960 Stock (Track Recording Train) at South Ealing flic.kr/p/oqSiUWYou're very lucky with that photo to get those three together - I doubt anyone has ever for many many years if ever. You could probably sell that quite easily.

Think the option last considered was a new platform on the Ongar side of the existing Epping platforms.

Friday 26 - Sunday 28 September – End of THE Tube
HI copyed and pasted from EOR website On 30 September 1994 the last tube train left Ongar Station. Now, twenty years later, we're bringing it back!
Working with the Cravens Heritage Trains, a tube train will once again be on our rails hauled by Diesel 'Schoma' locomotives. This is the first time that a 'Schoma' has hauled a passenger train - making this a truly unique event.
Alongside this, we will have Met 1 and a range of London Transport wagons to create a unique display of steam with Tube at Ongar!
Special fares apply - tickets on sale now! FISH7373

Quite an exciting week ahead, Battery Loco - Schoma-Cravens set- Schoma- Battery Loco combination Ruislip to Epping, I wonder if this will be a one off, or the start of something special with perhaps the move repeated wit the 1938 stock set ? Thanks to Fish7373 for recent updates, had a peek at your Flickr site some very interesting behind the scenes photos, thanks for sharing.
