Good to hear the 1960 stock is operational again, at least for a stock movement. What plans do Cravens Heritage currently have for this unit and their '62 stock train? They have been very quiet in recent years.

Today at about 15.05 the Track Recording Train with its 2 1960 stock DM cars and the 1973 stock car was seen going westbound towards Acton Town.
This means that 4 1960 DM cars were in action on the District Line today.

The Northern Line blinds came, I believe from redundant 59TS , and were used on the East Finchley to High Barnet shuttles, which took place an age ago now.

Wait, will the Cravens Heritage train move to the EOR, or did i misunderstand you?

I'm speculating here but EOR have an event in September commemorating 20 years since the last LUL services. This Cravens unit formed the last train in 1994. I hope, however, it will not be a permanent move since the Ongar branch is no longer electrified.

Wait, will the Cravens Heritage train move to the EOR, or did i misunderstand you? The Cravens set is due to visit the EOR at the end of September for their LU-themed event. The set will be operating throughout the weekend utilising two of the Schoma diesels, with battery locomotives powering the move through Central London. This is subject to successful brake tests. As yet there has been no official announcement from CHT or the EOR, but a press release has made a limited appearance in the railway press. I am reliably informed that more information should be released in the next few days. It is only a temporary visit for the special event.

Hmmmm, I wonder what kind of state the PW is in from Epping Station up onto the former branch and up to the EOR metals.I would guess it hasn't been touched in the twenty years since closure. If that is the way the Craven Unit will get to the EOR.

If that is the way the Craven Unit will get to the EOR. Yes, it will be going via rail. The connection at Epping has recently been re-instated and it is this which is enabling the move to happen. The infrastructure is passable by trains but cannot currently be used for passenger services.

There are no plans to reinstate a passenger service to Ongar, but I am not aware of the main reason why the connection was reinstated.
