A few updates in the latest Commissioner's Report to the TfL Board. - bids for new West Anglia rolling stock due mid Nov 2014 - contract for the stock has a base quantum of 45 trains but with options for future expansion. That is what I expected would happen. - TfL have secured two extra peak paths on the NLL so service frequency will rise to 10 tph (service pattern unspecified). Stock for this will be from the supplier of the West Anglia trains which is interesting as this means a mix of 4 and 5 car trains could be required. I’m hesitant because the report doesn’t say the new NLL trains will be 5 car. - Work is going on to see if an extra peak shuttle train can run on the GOBLIN.

The service requirement for the Watford DC line is 6 units so it may not be a coincidence that the new stock order has been increased by 6 (to 45) from 39! Its possible (probable even?) that those 6 units of class 378 which will be 5 car would be cascaded back for use on the NLL (4 units) and the ELL (2 units). That would leave the North, West and East London Lines using 5 car 378s, and the GOB, DC, West Anglia and Romford-Upminster lines using new 4 car class units.
