Good spot about the clue, I thought you meant the DMI on the train then I spotted it.

B- Custom House (you left a clue visible) Doh! At least it wasn't the station name (I have done that before!)

A is between Prince Regent and Custom House. After a bit more thought, approaching Prince Regent from Custom House.

Is the link something to do with docks? Maybe even Custom Houses?

Is the link something to do with docks? Maybe even Custom Houses? Link is not to do with docks or Customs houses. Yes 'C' is Alperton, the clue version is not modified.

Stations: A = Prince Regent B = Custom House C = Alperton D = Westbourne Park
Insets A = 'Royal' Centre Nottingham B1 = 'Royal' Hotel Weymouth B2 = 'Royal' Palace Edinburgh Castle B3 = Some Crown Green Bowling Green so is odd one out because it hasn't a 'Royal' in its name, but in a 'Royal Park' perhaps C = 'Royal' Victoria Dock D = 'Royal' Observatory at Greenwich
All Insets are named Royal Station Links are all One stop away from Royal Stations A = Prince Regent next station 'Royal' Albert B = Custom House next station 'Royal' Victoria C = Alperton next station Park 'Royal' D = Westbourne Park next station 'Royal' Oak

You have almost everything there!
Inset B3 is a bowling green, and is in a park, but which park?
Which of the stations is the odd one out and why?

Odd one out could be Prince Regent because the adjacent Royal station is further away from Central London - all the others are the next stop out from the Royal station.
Or it could be Alperton because "Royal" is the second word in the adjacent station's name: or maybe because it is in a different Zone to the adjacent "Royal" station

Is it the 'regent' that makes that station odd?

Alperton isn't near a Crossrail portal.

A very long shot, Alperton is the only station where walk up to the platforms, the other 3 we walk down to them.

That's not a geographical reason and so not what we're after here.
It's also not quite correct as Prince Regent and Custom House are island platforms at about street level so you have to go up first before going down.

Another long shot, Westbourne has west in it and A are "exit for ExCel East/West". So Alperton is the only station without a compass reference in the nam.

As per normal practice we'll leave it about 24 hours (from your request) before posting the answer, to allow anyone who fancies to have an(other) attempt.

Westbourne Park, Custom House and Prince Regent are all on a East-West alignment; Alperton is SE-NW.
