Answer: Between Chiswick Park and Turnham Green - Acton Green Common [Chris M] This image is not modified Today in 1905 was first day of a electrification from Turnham Green to Richmond That may be true but it's not the bonus answer we're looking for. In fact the event we're looking for took place a lot later than 1905.

Well, a year ago (in 2014) the Piccadilly was running on the slow lines instead of the fast on at least one occasion:

It's also not what we're looking for here.

Piccadilly was running on the slow lines instead of the fast on at least one occasion: That's more common then you think it is Back in my student days, when I used to stay out so late that I could catch the first train home to Acton (rather than the last), early morning Piccadilly trains called at all stations between Hammersmith and Acton Town, and necessarily had to use the slow lines to do so. Does that not still happen?

They do not necessarily have to use thw slow lines--- the only problem is Stamford Brook which whic has no E B fast platform (for historic reasons).

[Picc stoppers] do not necessarily have to use the slow lines--- the only problem is Stamford Brook which has no E B fast platform (for historic reasons). These were westbound trains, so Stamford Brook wouldn't have been a problem. However, I lived at Chiswick Park................

Does that not still happen? They only call at Turnham Green early mornings and late evenings.
