Question, please for our London Overground friends and experts.
Is there any reason why a class 378 can't reverse via the siding at Harrow & Wealdstone if necessary? I know that it is scheduled to be used by LU almost exclusively, but in the event of an emergency .... ?

In the past some of the mainline trains did terminate here, but in those days there were two sidings.
Whilst I cannot answer your question in an authoritative way I would assume that LU would not be pleased if there only being the one siding meant that the LO train was preventing the LU train from reversing.

Well there is a trailing crossover, which is used at the end of the day, so I don't think an LO train in the siding would prevent an LU train from reversing. However, the siding is the preferred reversing method, for obvious reasons, and is presumably generally occupied, or about to be occupied, by 7 cars of 1972 stock, so I'm sure putting an LO train in there wouldn't be free of problems, if it's possible (and I'd be surprised if it wasn't).

I have video of the trailing crossover being used. This was in the Silverlink / 313 ear and because of disruption to the service the train was shuttling between H&W and Watford Junction with the Bakerloo running south of H&W.
I bet Silverlink would have not even run that service had the Bakerloo still been able to go all the way to Watford.

Anything to do with signal sighting of the position light siding exit signal ? WS307 has a 'plunger' associated with it to plunge ready when changed ends complete aligned for tube stock, just wondering if cab layout of 378 allows sufficient sighting of it ??

I have seen late running Bakerloo services reverse from platform 1 via the crossover.
