If it wasn't like that the trains coming from the sidings to the left of the picture would strike the platform. As such E/B trains can not enter passenger service until Fulham Broadway

It actually IS like that? I thought you'd buckled the picture to make it harder! A straight section of platform with adjacent rail on it's own would be too generic to be identified I think!

true, but it's not the only place. Morden, Stratford, Uxbridge, Cockfosters, Loughton and White City all have this where there is a platform on both sides of the track. There are likely other places too.
