The passageway at Bank will remain closed until at least October. The works for the new entrance is taking longer than initially planned

flic.kr/p/HHFPtMI believe the hoarded off passageway is visible only on the left (although do correct me if I'm wrong)

The passageway that is closed is the one that links the W&C to the DLR and Northern lines. The routes between the Northern and DLR are unaffected.

I think the date has been pushed back again to mid-November (planned re-opening date was August)

The planned re-opening won't be until (at least) February. I was told that asbestos was found behind the hoarding

This is turning out to be highly frustrating as a daily commuter who needs to interchange between the W&C and Central lines especially with the amount of problems we had a few weeks ago on top of the many frustrations at Bank already.
1) They don't have a downwards travellator in the morning which wasn't helpful to me when I was on crutches a year ago and a year before that. 2) The closure means that I have to go up the travellator and then queue to get through 1 open ticket barrier at the Central Line gateway ticket area. 3) Given the lack of trains on the Central line due to maintenance it's a daily chore to queue because the Central Line platforms are too busy. 4) Two weeks ago was hell when the Jubilee decided to break down on the same day as the Central Line which was already having a poor week. Everyone was trying to get from Waterloo to Bank and vice versa which is the norm! The whole of Bank became a complete cluster and everyone spilled out on to the streets at every entrance/exit. You couldn't move - if there was a fire everyone would've been toast. 5) People don't let you off the train on your way in to Bank in the evening and when you do get off the train you get barged back for trying to EXIT the platform. The station layout is horrible for the W&C line. We really only need ONE platform with people exiting one side and boarding the other - bish bash bosh, Kevin's your uncle, Bob's your granddad.
Thank you for confirming why the closure has been extended.

The passageway will reopen on Monday (Barring any problems) Hopefully this will avoid having the down travelator being stopped in the evening peak

They were announcing yesterday morning that it was open. This was around 11:30.

The passage is open, and there is a poster advising of this as you exit the Central line platforms heading for the DLR (using the signed route), and another at the DLR-end of the passageway. I didn't have time to read the poster or take a trip along the passageway though.
