please please can we get this argument settled once and for all
2 different news clips
It seems like because Mr Lawrence demanded a fee everytime his voice was heard LT pushed him out and asked Mr lodge to do it instead
I would be sure that Peter Lodge was doing an impression of Oswald Lawrence which must been so accurate that Oswald's wife Margaret is still going down the northbound northern line at Embankment to hear what she thinks is her husband, - and it is'nt.

sounds creepy--someone who could contact her should break the news gently to her.

And the replacement Lawrence voice heard in video clip 1 ain't Lodge.
Because it says, unlike La. or Lo., Mind the Gap Please.
So, who was the third man?
And, being the Northern Line, where was he positioned at Oval?

I'm not sure anyone claimed the replacement in the clip to be Lodge.

I think it’s one of those things where we’ll never know for sure the actual definite answer. However, it does seem like Lawrence made the original recording then Lodge made another one, with Lawrence thinking that was in fact his. It’s quite possible the voice as heard through the PA is slightly different to the actual voice. The original Inspector Sands message sounded completely different when played from a fire panel than when played in a station PA system - slower and lower pitch, yet I’m sure it’s the same recording (When slowed down on Windows sound recorder it sounded the same). I wonder if something like this effect could distort the voice of the Mind the Gap announcement enough to make both sets of relatives think it’s their man?

It's actually lazy editing on the first clip, because the 'please' version isn't attributed to anyone, just his (Lawrence's) voice had been replaced, with no inquiry as to who the replacement voice was. I think it’s one of those things where we’ll never know for sure the actual definite answer. If I get the chance, I'll try and download the soundtrack on both clips as mp3's & then run it through my Audacity program. I'll try & cut the three MTG's and see what the soundwaves look like on each.

Oswald Lawrence's wife was my mother's GP.
Now that's how to end the year on a note of trivia!
