Early this morning I badly hurt my back such that I can't currently move from lying on my left side. This means I can't use my computer and can't therefore prepare any quiz questions and there aren't any prepared beyond today, so it's probable there will be at least one day gap in the quiz.

As yesterday went on the pain subsided somewhat so I'm in better shape, however I've lost significant amount of movement in my right foot which means I'm not fully mobile. Off to the Royal London shortly to have an MRI.

It turns out that I need surgery so there will be no quiz tomorrow and possibly for a couple of days after that.

The latest I've heard is that Chris' surgery went to plan and he's now recovering. He's expecting to ve recovering as an in-patient for at least a few days.
I'm sure we all wish him well. I'm not sure if Chris will be able to check the forum, but if anyone wishes to send him private good wishes feel free to PM a member of forum staff and we'll ensure these are passed on.

Thank you all for the wishes.
The surgery was to decompress my L4, L5 and S1 vertebra at the bottom of my back and I'm told it took about 4 hours. Recovery will likely continue for several months and I may never regain full strength and movement in my right foot (although I hope to, it's far from guaranteed).
I can check the forum, although I have no idea how often or for how long at a time. I've got my laptop with me now and am mostly able to use it, so I'll try and get some quiz pictures done but in TfL-speak it's more likely to be a "Special service" than a "good service".

Antje Thank you for stepping in today. I consider your questions to be running in parallel to my quiz (as any member is free to post at any time), so feel free to post as many as you want. I'm working on a quiz for tomorrow (likely to be ready shortly) and will be filling in gaps retrospectively (i.e. you will get a question for 27 August, just not on 27 August).
