I felt a bit guilty about unintentionally burying this, originally posted in an H&C thread: districtdavesforum.co.uk/post/511679Question was: Why is it that if an east bound district line train is going to Dagenham East do the screens always show “Check Front of Train” (or words to that effect). Enquirer stated they've been living in the area for a month now, first time thought nothing of it but have seen it half a dozen times now and the destination is always Dagenham East.

Needs a bit of a reboot by the sounds of it
Those signs are fed of the PICU system which should follow the train from Ealing Broadway / Turnham Green if coming up from Richmond.
The old signs which only used to show 1 destination at a time worked off the traditional describer equipment.
Raise it with a member of station staff who will report it as a fault and then it will get looked at

That would have been me who asked that question. Interestingly it was still doing it as recently as Friday. Surely if a reboot is all it needs someone would have noticed and rebooted by now. I’ve noticed it very regularly in the 6 weeks I’ve live in the area. I’ve yet to see Dagenham East show as a destination on those screens. But plenty of check front of train that are always the Dagenham East trains.
