Does anyone have an idea of how frequent the DLR was in its earlier days? With only 11 units and two branches, I can't imagine the service was any more frequent than about every 10 minutes on each branch at the beginning, meaning a train every 5 minutes on the combined section between West India and Island Gardens. When the Bank and Beckton extensions were complete, was there a huge increase in frequency on the combined sections of route? Were the schedules built in a way to ensure P86s and P89s were not used on the new routes? On an anecdotal note, I vaguely recall there being a service every 10 minutes on the Lewisham branch on a Saturday. This was back in 2003 when I had my first DLR journeys (as an eight year old ). Not sure if this was typical or an abbreviation.
