I know it's Christmas, but the lack of reply says it all as well...
(Some of the remarks here might be a bit heavy for them, so they are safer to avoid admitting it. Should one stick his/her head above the ground, I bags first rant ;D )
I'd be suprised if there wasn't at least one Circle t/op who reads the forum but doesn't post - although I don't suppose that helps anybody much (except the T/op in question of course )
The essential things in life are seen not with the eyes, but with the heart. --Antoine de St. Exupery
Citysig will have to watch what he says from now on .
I have never said anything that I would wish to be hidden from anyone - it is a public forum after all and anyone can read it ;D
As circledriver has taken the time and trouble to sign up and post, and appears to be quite sociable (even if he is shouting!) I would be very surprised if he fell into the catergories I normally file some of the circle drivers. So I am sure he won't take any offence if he sees what some people think of a handful of his colleagues. He probably already knows anyway (or has just joined the job or returned from Mars or something ;D )
Another ex Circle & Hammersmith T/op here! Sorry but we're a shy bunch spending all that time underground, not seeing much daylight etc etc.
Edgware Rd guys are a great bunch of colleagues to work with, not sure what it's like these days but some of the old 'uns should still be there. Any E/rd guys remember Carl (graham)? "221 on 1 is waiting...i ain't got no one!" Cue panic. Priceless!!

Or the days of someone standing on a platform somewhere waiting for a circle train with a message like 'controller says 163 to make 164 and get off at Baker such-and-such a time' That pleased the crew no end if it meant they missed a round but the air was blue if it meant an extra one.
Or better still, arrive at Aldgate Inner rail, Station Inspector says to reform T211 to 214. Confirm it - yup that's correct. Arrive at Great Portland Street. Couple of minutes later, H&C in front calls L/C asking why he's being held outside Baker St - Controller replies - waiting for a relief on the Circle in the platform. Call L/C myself - he comes straight back and says - we're looking for the driver for T213. I reply 'Train 214 at Great Portland Street - you've found the driver for T213 - I'm on T214' ;D ;D 'Ahh!' says controller 'OK we'll look for the spare then' ;D ;D (and hope it ain't Carl Graham on the desk ) End result - spare has to do one of my Circles
What do you mean, you'll be late due to balloons on the line? MA indicator light? What MA indicator light?
Nothing quite like the constant reformations on the inners and outers for most of the day, no such luck when you're stuck on Watfords all day! Still better than 6 circles and a hammer and back tho... Just pray Hickin ain't anywhere near Edgware Rd.
Hiya guys and no i wont shout anymore.carl graham has retired and yes hickin is still with us,,,poor us lol.As for reforms yes we are still getting out of work so to all u green line drivers and all signaman,,,opps cant say that i mean signal operators please do your best to still mess it up so us yellow bellies cant get out of work lol
Only if you supply us Service Control Operators... our newest name with lots of donuts..... especially if you one of those T/Ops that take those circles back to Barking on nights and often run 10 early
How is it piossible to run 10 early with computers and P Machines in charge? Only way that can be done is if that nice signal gentleman push buttons you through.
Yes, Steve Hickin is the H&C driver in the video, only these days he's fatter, minus face fuzz and ten times more obnoxious (only joking steve) - doesn't that journey seem to be at really low speed, i know C69s are slow as f---, but...

Dont ruin my chances of free donuts on nights ;D There is indeed a nice signal gent at ERD to push them throufh, and quite often the computer at Baker Street lets it run.

There's also one who always holds me on the Wimblewares beyond my departure time just for the sheer fun of putting a Circle in front of me! (Probably my mate Boxboy getting his own back cos I haven't played online Simsig with him for a while! ;D
Where is Boxboy?? Aint seen him since Transport World?
Sam
A very good question, actually! He's definitely registered here! Maybe C5 could have words and see if he's having PC probs or something. Haven't seen him on MSN for a while either!

So, as a Service Controller Level 1, how many donuts do we get ? Actually, better leave off the donuts - trying to lose some of the weight I gained through giving up smoking.

Oh so the computer does it eh. No nice gentlemen (or lady) monitoring the line between Baker Street and Aldgate East then? ;D
