In the Camden New Journal, a free paper, there was 'major outrage' at BAA's plans for yet another terminal. If this goes ahead, I'm just wondering if the Pic will go there, and just how it will be fitted in with regards the service pattern. Will it be another extension on the T5 bit, or another loop?

T6 is planned to be built to the N of the northernmost runway, and will only happen if a third runway is built just to the S of the M4. It will be difficult to divert either the Piccadilly, or HEX/Crossrail to T6, with seriously complicating the services even more than what the T5 extensions will!

T6 is dead easy for HEX/Crossrail, the interim master plan shows the terminal plopped right on top of the HEX tunnels. All they'd need to do is widen the tunnels and make some platforms

Its not terminals they should be building at H'Row its new runways that are needed....waited just about an hour just to get to take-off on sunday night, the congestion was so bad...on second thoughts, demolish the whole bloody clapped out lot and start again somewhere more appropriate and build a decent airport instead of the dump that makes up the first impression of our country to so many people......!! rant over!

I've often thought that it might be worthwile to send small planes to Northolt Aerodrome, and keep Heathrow as International only. The two could then be linked with West London's equivilant of the DLR. However Northolt is being upgraded, so will become the new Air Force center for London; thus no chance for passenger conversion.

T2 at Heathrow is being rebuilt as Heathrow East.
BAA are investing in more people movers at the airport.

I would assume that Heathrow East will use an AGT system to transfer passengers between the terminals and remote piers, in a similar way to the system under construction at T5, and at Stansted. The T5 system is being built by Bomardier, with rubber tyred cars, and a radio based moving block signalling system.

AFAIK the flight paths can conflict between Northolt / Heathrow.

I think the proposed new (short) runway and terminal at the north of the current site would serve this purpose as a predominantly short-haul area anyway. I did think there might be an ATC nightmare by using these two sites heavily....
