Just a heads up every Monday to Thursday from 23rd July till at least October,apart from August Bank Holiday, the line will shut for VLU work from 22:00.Also 4th & 5th August,1st & 2nd,8th & 9th,15th & 16th September no service Victoria-Brixton,11th,18th,19th August,29th & 30th September line shut all day,6th October no service Walthamstow-Highbury.

Yes I believe so. Because the new trains will run on an entirely different signalling system and are not compatible with the current system on the line, they can't be run at the same time as normal service trains. So they have to close a section of the line to test the new trains. Annoying yes, but ultimately necessary.

I was under the impression that both signalling and control systems would run side-by-side until all the old trains had gone. I don't think that there is enough space in the depot to store all the trains either ;D ;D

I don't think that there is enough space in the depot to store all the trains either ;D ;D Yes the new signalling will be overlaid on the current system, and I think that eventually when the new kit is up and running the old stuff may be removed. So there will be a period of inter-running the old and new stocks.
