Do you know where I can find this in the Rule Books? We have been discussing this for about a fortnight at work – there have been over half a dozen occasions in the last two weeks where three (and more) consecutive stations have been shut on the Jubilee. Indeed, the Northern has had this problem, too - although no-one can seem to actually find it in the rule books?

EDIT: the 'C' does indeed indicate cash. I can't remember what the letters were for other types of payment though. I've got a nagging feeling 'D' was for debit cards, but I'm really not sure IIRC 'C' is for cards - I'm certain cash is actually M, (for 'money') I believe 'W' is 'Warrant', can't remember the others unfortunately!

I withdrew that one, if that's any good. It's not quite as funny as yours Miss 3.1, but it still made me chuckle when I saw it. In case you can't tell, the passenger had used a biro to turn the 3 into an 8, creating a new 6 day travelcard...

The board at the top of the stairs goes blank every time a train crosses the junction.
That's why in the morning peak there's a second CSA on the bridge, with a timetable, to tell people what trains where for the 20 seconds that the board's blank.

The recent problems have been due to trains loosing codes, (at least according to the service reports), so not sure why it's being blamed on doors.

Frankly, I do agree with you. It's quite ridiculous, but as you said:
And that's only going to get worse, considering all the budget cuts. But as you've also mentioned, those who make the decisions most likely don't use LU at the weekends anyway, so it doesn't affect them.
Now don't forget that, on weekends, staff have to use public transport to get to work anyway, so we're all in that together!

The official line is Summer 2010, and staff have been requested to continue to state this. A bit rubbish for those who want a ride on the first trip. Surely it's better to be vague than to specify a date, which, if changed, would screw up everyones plans.

I'm sure I've seen the W&S run through Harrow when I was in the cabin - that was due to a failed train in the peak at Neasden Junction.

Possibly to do with Green Parks step free programme being stepped up due to the Olympics.. it may not have been scheduled to come in until long after the refresh was complete.

The PPP is non-existent though Are you sure? My understanding is that TfL (from the end of the month) will simply be a stakeholder in TubeLines, as opposed to absorbing them as they did with Metronet... so surely a part of the PPP contract still exists..? Not sure if I've just mis-understood what's going on, though!

And IIRC from my TBTC training, drivers in Restricted Manual will need to stop at RM Hold boards and contact the signal, proceeding only with authorisation - this is as there are no fixed signals, so no designated point to agree for a train to continue to - (except for a platform, obviously).

Nice to know that appentices get the opportunity to try these things first before trainers on a line which will be using them get the opportunity........ "Apprentices" don't, only I did, through sheer convenience of being around at the time and assisting with a demonstration for a group of school children..

Although, I did take a wrong stick at Harrow and ended up on the Chiltern...

Just a guess, but surely if your train passes a red aspect on a signal relating to the line you are travelling on, it's a SPAD?

What do you mean by "do something with it"? Surely the point is to allow the driver to get from one end of the train to the other, perhaps visiting the lavatory in urgent circumstances. The most common thing I find there isn't enough time to do is to grab a drink. At many locations being able to use the lavatory and still be ready to depart in 4 minutes is a challenge. Although yes, the 'point' of the turnaround time is to allow the driver to change ends, (checking his train as he goes through, for smashed windows etc. iirc)

He originally stated that he left LUL to spend some time with his family in America. The Standard articale quotes that he regrets leaving the post. I believe the general feeling in the company was that he wanted to leave before the axe fell with the looming job cuts, (which we all knew were proposed in some way or another) - which suggests why he isn't returning to London Underground, as they haven't happened yet - (although, of course, thats not to say that if it hadn't been proposed he would have been back).

When is the next 09 stock delivery scheduled for? I'm assuming that at the moment, trains 1, 2 and 4 are still at Northumberland Park. Is train 3 the next one due? I visited North Park Depot on Wednesday and sat in on part of the 09 stock course for the drivers - I was told they had trains 2 3 and 4 there, and that 1 had been sent back up for modification..?
