I was travelling on unit 109 today from Beckton to Canning Town, and on approaching the station what seemed like the usual MAVIS announcement started playing. However, something didn't seem quite right. The penny dropped towards the end, because what MAVIS said was:
"The next stop is Canning Town. Change here for Jubilee Line and Silverlink services, and the City Airport shuttle bus."
What I thought was odd about this is that it was on a vehicle delivered in mid-late 2008, yet was an announcement that became obsolete in December 2005.
Also, I'm sure I haven't heard that announcement on any of the other new units.
Incidentally, at Beckton Park station at least, and possibly on others, the station signage all still reads, "Trains for Canning Town" - the stickers haven't been removed to reinstate the original Tower Gateway indication. Also, all the signs from Westferry to Shadwell still have Tower Gateway stickered over.
