Revised NLL Service from 20th April

From Monday 20th April the service from Stratford has been revised and simplified to coincide with the start of the Camden - Dalston work. The off peak service is the same 4tph Stratford - Richmond and 2tph Willesden - Clapham, but now the peak service is 3tph Stratford - Richmond and 3tph Stratford - Clapham giving a 6tph Startford - Willesden service. The OHLE on the No.1 lines between Camden and Dalston has been de-energised and will be removed over the coming weeks in preperation for re-modelling.

OHLE already gone... DC rail from the neutral section at Hackney Central to Channel Sea Junction removed as well...

How is the revised service working? I've used it quite a few times recently and the equal choice between Clapham Junction and Richmond has been useful. It would be nice if this were the pattern all day actually, maybe eventually rising to 8tph in the peaks if infrastructure/stock allows.

Also fingers crossed for Monday 6th July as this date has not been cancelled, yet, for the introduction of a couple of 378's in passenger service.. We can only hope and pray ;-)

Glad to hear my experience was reflected in the overall "very good" performance. Hope it's extended all day and beyond December. With the bay platform at Camden being put on hold a through service is probably less disruptive than the WJ-CJ and Camden-Stratford shuttles anyway.

Looking forward to the 378s. Just hope they don't disrupt the service while bedding in.

Would be interesting to compare to S Stock as it gets rolled out.

Since you mention that, it's funny to note that the trains on the NLL have a higher top speed capability than the Met, which will probably continue with 378 and S stock.

Maybe something is missing, but that makes it sound like they are saying that from the end of the year they will have less overall peak capacity, more irregular intervals, and more crowding issues. Which is what would logically result from undoing the changes that brought about these benefits.

Are they expecting more freight along the route due to Stratford City, the Olympics and Crossrail?

Yes,and not only that,the freight traffic now has to share two tracks with the NLL stopping services.
The OHLE is gone from around Canonbury westward,and the goods lines are severed just West of H&I,as they are digging a large hole in the formation near Caledonian Rd.
It's my impression,and it would make good sense,that there is more container traffic being routed via the Goblin,with a diesel towing the electric loco.

I suspected the ELLX would cause this some time ago, but at least NLL east to Stratford won't be just 4TPH as is planned for the ELL Clapham Junction branch. Shame though as Stratford-H&I is a lot of demand.

This LOROL network needs to be rethought but at least with the changes going on there's time to see how things pan out.
