Where it says "Bond Street Station" at the front reminds me alot of the post WWII "British Railways" logo.

I know the designer - I think he saw it as a pleasant change from designing specialist signal posts...

I *think* I recall an artist's impression of a London Overground station with a similar canopy in orange, maybe Kentish Town West, or am I just imagining this?

Yes, very 1930's; I like it! Better than that plastic bus shelter type thing they had before.
