Date is the end of Royal Mail trains in 2004 (though of course some have since restarted)

It's not related to the depot, and it significantly pre-dates the commissioning of the Royal Mail distribution centre.

OK from CULG... 9 Jan 1917 Stonebridge Park closed due to a fire. Spot on! My answer sheet says: The station was closed for 8 months in 1917 due to fire on 9th January
