Between you, you have both. Just the link to find now. Station A: Royal Oak - east end [Chris M] Station B: Westbourne Park - exterior [Chris M] *Click image for a larger version*

Is the reason something to do with the date the underpass was opened?

Is the reason something to do with the date the underpass was opened? It's close...... Given that you are as close as that, the next person would get it anyway, so I'll give it to you. Diveunder between these stations came into LU ownership 60 years ago today.

OK - from Rails Through the Clay (2nd Edn p 285)
The following were formally transferred - ex-LSWR from Studland Road Junction and Turnham Green electrified parts of Ealing and Shepherds Bush Railway North Acton Junction to West Ruislip ex-LNER East Finchley to High Barnet and Mill Hill East Leyon Junction to Ongar and Newbury Park (via Grange Hill)
Presumably other parts used by District and Metropolitan lines may also have been transferred.

A History of London Transport Vol 2 (Basker & Robbins) gives a list of transfers with dates (Chapter 19, pp 341-342). This gives, for formal transfer (management change was often on a different date): - 1950-01-23: Whitechapel & Bow Rly; East London Rly; H&C Rly (Hammersmith-Westbourne Park (excl); ex LNER lines used by Central & Northern Lines; ex GWR lines used by Central Line (E&SB, and line to W Ruislip); part of Kensington & Richmond Rly (from Studland Road Jn to Acton Lane East Jn - used by District/Piccadilly lines)
- 1950-01-25: ex Met & GC/LNER joint lines Harrow to Aylesbury South (including Watford & Chesham branches). North of Amersham back to BR 1962-04-18.
- 1969-01-01: local (District) tracks Bow Campbell Road Jn- Upminster (excluding Barking and Upminster stns)
- 1970-01-01: Westbourne Park-Paddington Suburban (electrified (Met line) tracks)
Note the last!
