When I was at Westminster on Monday, I noticed a log on the headwall??? (I think) which had the times and dates the PED failed or had problems. While reading the log, I did notice that there wre indeed quite a few occassions on which the PED had just simply failed.
Was wondering if this was an issue that is to be solved with the whole line closure coming up soon?
Thanks

Seems a bit odd, as the station supervisor or/and control room will have a log of all the faults, so there is no need to have a duplicate.
I work on the Jubilee, and have noticed over the last few weeks, the PEDS at Westminster [particularly the E/B] seem to be failing a lot, so this notice must be to aid the Knorr Bremse Techs.

Unless anybody can tell me whether Westminster has had general PED problems otherwise, this is probably all to do with the new signalling equipment. From what I remember from my TBTC training, Westminster was dubbed the 'migration boundary', as it would've been between the J3 (Canning Town - Westminster) and J4 (Westminster - Dollis Hill) phases of the upgrades project.
J3 was supposed to be ready at some point long ago (there is a poster in my station's messroom stating that full ATO was expected this month, ha!), so it was expected that EB trains coming into Westminster would then be under the TBTC mode (which would've been tested and confirmed at Green Park). Because of the whole list of new equipment and associated processes that occur when the train doors then open, teething problems were probably expected, thus the need to log any PED issues. Where the PEDs have simply failed, this is most probably all the new equipment failing to communicated with the train.
(The process that would've taken place under the TBTC upgrade where a train stops at a PED station is all really boring and long-winded to be honest with you, but if you're really interested...)
