A single part question today, but there are bonus points available. Inset 2, can you identify the occasion as well as the location: *Click image for a larger version*

The lower inset (Inset two?) looks like the forum Christmas meet, so somewhere on the old circle line?

A roundel in the lower inset says "NO", could it be Notting Hill Gate?

Well, I think I can see the svelte form of SE13 hiding in that picture - is that because it's his birthday today (many happy returns BTW)?

M is correct, it was chosen because it was my birthday. I didn't even notice I was in the picture when it was posted! The Circle Line trip is correct too, and it was Monument. So, still inset 1 and the main location to find. Main location: Inset 1: Inset 2: District Dave Forum's Circle Line tour at Monument on 12 December 2009 [Chris M] *Click any image for a larger version*

Acton Town is the main location, well done Seth. Inset 1 is a castle, but it isn't the one at Dover (a location I must go back to on a day when it isn't throwing it down).

Just for reference, Acton Town was chosen because the trip/meet there was a birthday present from my immediates, and is the closest station to the museum.
The best clue I can give is that all the pictures are relevant to myself, I appear in one, I chose one and I took one.......

Indeed it is SE13's photo of the west entrance to his local castle.

Ahhhh.... Too easy a clue then!
Think I took that one about three years ago, the entry point there is due to be closed by the City Council to save money, but there has been a public outcry.
I've lived here for just shoving 27 years now, and I've still never been in there!

Whereas I've spent about 2½ days in Lincoln and have! I've not been in one of the two show caves in Cheddar Gorge in nearly 19 years though.

Funny how you take these local things for granted! I lived in London for the first 15 years of my life and never went to the like of Buck House etc....... It wasn't until I moved here that I started looking at "tourist" things in London!

I'd lived in Portchester for over twelve years before I ventured up to the top of the castle in whose grounds we got married in!

Not quite in the same league as Glyn but it wasn't until I'd been living in Liverpool for five years until I took a "ferry 'cross the Mersey". Even then it was only because my parents were visiting, until then I'd taken the 'Underground'.
