Anyone else noticed the abortion that is now Temple.? The platform roundels here were a mix of “panel” types, some of which had a separate black-on-yellow “WAY OUT” section (upper case too) and dated it seems from various years in the 1970s/80s. Indeed I was once told that almost every sign was subtly different in some way.
All these were swept away over the past week or so, replaced by the modern “silhouette” pattern in that awful modern roundel dimension. Not only do these not give the extra exit information, they appear spaced oddly with some previous positions left empty.
There is a “classic” at the rear end of the EB platform where one has been fixed directly over one of the (unused) 1980s rectangular tiled green-on-off-white poster frames. (Parts of which are now visible through the open infill.) This goes against every principle of design, LU/TFL or otherwise!
Glad that, despite the 800 jobs being cut, there’s still money in the kitty for this sort of thing! I can understand why new Circle/H&C diagrams had to be produced (though vinyl stickers suffice at Whitechapel for LO on amended LU signs), or if the station is being refurbished; but this smacks of extravagance!

That's the one.
As it's a duplicate thread, I'll lock this one so that we can keep all the talk to a single thread.
