Can anyone tell me why EC 300 now brings the train to a virtual standstill before clearing.

I havn't got a diagram with me at the mo, and I can't picture the area - but i'd imagine it's something to do with no spare parts being available to maintain the timing equipment. I'm sure aetearlscourt or Tom will along to explain...

Its the one from west ken, just inside the tunnel mouth as you are going towards ECT, just after you cross the Olympia w/b and it's on the RH side.
I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary the other day. Have you changed your driving technique on the approach?

Have they taken the ISD out and substituted a timing track circuit?

It was all working perfectly normally when I came through there this afternoon - 21mph as I went over the inductor rail, and EC300 cleared as expected And yes, I was driving my own train today. In fact just after I passed EC300, who did I see waiting on the Westbound platform at Earl's Court but our very own leader, DD himself ;D ;D

I can also confirm that the timing section for EC300 was working perfectly yesterday. Signal dropped off as I went over the section at about 20mph.
(I can also confirm the even more unbelievable story that Solidbond and DD WERE driving their own trains yesterday!)

Can anyone tell me why EC 300 now brings the train to a virtual standstill before clearing. If you faster than 21mph the signal will not drop until you have stopped and the equipment has "timed out"
