I've seen some pictures of the refurbished 92's for the Central line and although the train looks in much better condition, a few changes have been made. For starters, the windows are now smaller and the seats have changed.
I was wondering whether the same changes will made to the trains running in the drains?

Unlikely I would have thought. They have only recently been refreshed (2006) or whatever you call it, and I'm sure they aren't going to bring them to the surface and take them away again - unless anything is done locally. There isn't the problem of 'rain', apart from when they're stabled in the depot under the 'open' bits.

W&C line trains were refurbished in 2006 so no. And as said they would have to be lifted by crane out of the drain so again no.
Central Line trains will not get smaller windows, take a closer look and a look at te picture of inside the carriage. The reason they look smaller is because of the huge outer frame, this makes it easier for the windows to be replaced as they can be simply lifted off the side of the bodyshell rather than having to take it out of the body shell as the current ones are embedded.
Also the W&C line trains got CCTV, something that appears to have not found its way over to the 92ts refresh, presumably because of the embedded lighting. This would have been an ideal deterrent to vandals who like to scratch their names all over the windows.

Heard rumours that w c trains Will get a slight face lift after the 92s. Not sure if its windows or the cab ends or both. Only a rumour at the moment though.

As mentioned in posts above, it's unlikely as the trains were only refubished back in 2006, although they already look a state, more so on the outside of the trains than the inside. I didn't think the 92's on the W&C would receive the same treatment as those on the Central, but it was just something that sprung to mind, so I thought I would ask and see if anyone knew whether all 92's would get the same TLC, or just those on the Central, as they do need it more

Yeah, probably won't happen but i think there talking about it As the man said, any refurb would require the line to be closed down and the units winched in and out with a crane as they don’t have the space or facilities at Waterloo to do anything there. If they are talking about it then we are looking well onto the future, 2026 maybe.......

Could a Central Line train work on the W&C without significant work? If so then work could be done without shutting the line - exchange one W&C train for one from the Central Line, refurb the W&C one, swap it with another W&C train, repeat until you've done them all when you retrieve the Central Line train and take it back home. Whether this would be a better option than closing the line I have no idea - for example it would obviously require more days of crane hire and traffic disruption around Waterloo, which would I presume be a big cost consideration. It would also require taking half a Central Line train away from it's line, and there aren't an infinite number of spares.
An alternative would be to design a refurb that could be carried out in situ, even if it required taking a platform out of action at weekends to do some of it.

Could a Central Line train work on the W&C without significant work?. Although the W&C trains were tested on the Central Line before being put into their hole, the Central (and iots trains) has since ATO and ATP fitted. I assume a Central Line train could now only be driven on the W&C in Restricted Manual (11mph max) unless it were to be modified back to original condition.

92s on the Central Line don’t have tripcocks and there are no codes on the W&C, no doubt there are a dozen other reasons, you’d need to modify the Central Line train and then reverse the modifications afterwards.
You couldn’t shut down a platform at Waterloo as there’s no crossover, you go from the arrivals platform onto one of the reversing roads and then back into the departures platform. I’m not even sure there’d be room to do the work at Waterloo, the depot’s pretty small.
As my depot provides TOps for the W&C (I was down there Friday, very boring) we’d have been told if there were plans to close it down at weekends and we’ve heard nothing, so if it is being planned then it’s a long way in the future.
