From what I have been told, 5004 unit will be out and about on 12 June. It is being spruced up for the occasion - I just hope the graffiti vandals don't get to it beforehand.

Making sure that the red front is red and not "white" through graffiti cleaning and not replacing the red, for example.

Questions!
- Is there anything planned beyond 5004 being out and about? - Anyone going to be out and about for a ride? - And does anyone have timings?
I need to get my weekend travel booked!

Good news - saw unit 5004 out on train 440 this morning.
Bad news - the front cab of 5004 is in a disgusting state. More white (through graffiti removal) than red. Someone's got to get their finger out if it will be "spruced up" by Sunday.
Similarly, the front cab of DM 5034 (ex-5008, which car was also on that first train in service) is in an equally depolorable state!

Something must be done, even if I'm allowed on the front with a red spray can! ;D
I'm working on my garden this Saturday, but may get a chance to have a ride in the late afternoon if I can find the units whereabouts....

Waiting for my train at Rickmansworth this morning, 5004 passed through and it would appear that the front end cab of 5004 was dealt with overnight. Well done Neasden Depot! 5004 is currently formed up with 5157.

What are the odds of any advance information on what 5004 is doing on sunday? The ealiest I can get to London by train is 09.19 arriving at Waterloo. Is there a 'Spoons in Amersham?

Was running as Train 432 today. Front looked good but the blue skirt is badly faded on both sides alas.

Hi Metman No "Spoons' in Amersham however there is one in Watford with a hidden bonus it is on the Met's projected site for their Watford station which never materialised. Got to pick my other half up from High Wycombe mid afernoon might be able to meet up on Sunday morning - PM me your mobile no. if interested. Xerces Fobe

No 'Spoons in Amersham, in fact no real pub in Top Amersham / Amersham on the Hill. As well as the one in Watford mentioned else where, there is a 'Spoons in Rickmansworth

There is real ale in Top Amersham - Boot and Slipper on road to Chesham 8 mins walk from station but more expensive than Spoons.

I was wondering whether anyone had any information about planned stock workings over the weekend - ? As I write I can tell you that 5004 is still with 5157 for today (Saturday) and will start the day on Train 426. If nothing occurs, this train will stable at Rickmansworth over Saturday/Sunday at 0114. This does mean it will also be out and about on Sunday - but it could form any one of 9 possible services. Of these 2 are Uxbridges, 3 are Watfords and 4 are Amersham/Cheshams, so if I were a betting man... ;D

Being a betting man I'll narrow the odds ...
If it sticks all day, being a Ricky South Stabler, it will form 1 of 5 Sunday morning starters
3 are on the Amerhsam/Chesham circuit, 1 on the Watford, 1 on the Uxbridge
visit Mr Chandler and stick you're money on an appearance at the north end of the Met!

Now, ordinarily I would have bet on that kind of scenario, but when you say "Ricky south stabler" you mean per the timetable, but of course won't be privy to all the eventualities that may occur today that mean it may stable north not south. Yes I know that gives me the (unfair) edge, and being the night controller I could sway things even further by changing it over to a Watford stow ;D ;D

Either way could it's moves be posted asap tomorrow so that us 'outsiders' who have to up early know where to head and, more importantly, whether I have time for breakfast! Many thanks.

So important to you, you had to post it twice I'll do my best to have which train it's on posted up here by around 0600-0700 (service dependant of course).
