I know that the new control centre is to be located at Hammersmith, but originally there was to be a North and South control centre. Anyone know where these were to be.

There were proposals (and that's all they ever became) to have a temporary facility at Neasden and another at either Tower Hill, Acton or Earl's Court depending on the rumour of the week.
They were to be "quick fixes" to get the sub-surface lines controlled from 2 control centres rather than several signal cabins and other control rooms. The idea was dropped several years ago when it was seen to be more cost-effective (albeit slower due to the economic factors involved) to have everything moved into one building.

The thing is that once all the remote controls are either in a single place or can appear to be it is perfectly feasible to have an infinite number of control centres remotely controlling that place with a secure network and interlocking software apps. I recall discussing the theory with members of the project team who were upgrading Earls Court control room. Currently the problem will always be interfacing to the existing but that will not (should not) be so in the future!
