Have spotted a new speedo on one unit - might have been 96100... looks like a small monitor form...
Anyone else eludicate further?

It's called TOD - Train Operators Display. It's required for the introduction of the new signalling system and gives information such as actual Speed, target Speed, available driving modes, accurate stop etc. IMO, it's a vast improvement to what's used on the Central as it gives much more detail which is presented in a user-friendly way. ttr *edited for speeling

So... will the presently separate Accruate stop light be decomissioned? AFAIK yes it will (though don't quote me). As the train runs into the station,(I think) the TOD will count down the distance to the stopping point. The AS light will then appear on the TOD. This avoids the T/Op having to look at multiple indications in different areas of the cab to ensure an accurate stop, and thus maintain focus on the road ahead.
