I noticed the other day at Stratford that there is two types of couples on the 96TS. One being a link with two pipes either side where as one car had a big bulk part without the pipes. Does it have something to do with the ST? Didn't see which car had the bulker couplers but the north/east end was 96085.

96 TS only has fully automatic wedgelock couplers on the UNDM cars(964**/965** numbers) the couplers on the leading ends are mainly mechanical although they can be used to charge up air on a dead train/unit.

The only difference on couplers I know is that TBTC modded trains have an additional stud in the middle which is apart from the auto coupler but 96085 hasn't had the mod done yet.
