nah, I don't think anyone can make the lottery numbers sound as epic as this man shouting 'a good service is operating on all London Underground Lines.' You hear this and you almost stop because you think he has something important to say!

I find this one terribly irritating... too much infiormation in too quick succession; you've hardly had time to digest and decipher previous when the next one gets aired.

I wonder if many people can even understand it as the accent is so posh and pompous. It can however say a huge array of things. I have even heard it announcing to use both the Piccadilly and Victoria lines to reach the Emirates Stadium.

It sounds like my voicemail!
And the announcer's elocution is, well, interesting.

I was there a in July on a weekend to have a meet up with a few mates from another forum I frequent, went something like this:
"[beep bip bip]Ladies and Gentlemen, there is no service on the Victoria Line between Brixton and Highbury and Islington. This is due to planned engineering work." 15 secs later.. "[beep bip bip]Ladies and Gentlemen, the Circle and Hammersmith and City lines are running with minor delays. This is due to signalling problems.''
etc etc etc

I was sat waiting at Shepherds Bush H&C once, there were two separate auto announcements being played (announcer 1, 2 mintues, announcer 2, 5 minutes, announcer 1...), which contradicted the other one on every occasion.

The voice sounds like he has indigestion sometimes!
I think he has got a bit better. When you tell him what to say, does punctuation marks give him a bit more personality?

He is actually quite convincing when compared to other station announcers who sound robotic!
