What was the nature of the signal failure at Liverpool Street at about 12:30/1pm yesterday (13 May 2012)? There was no mention of it when I arrived at Tower Gateway on the DLR but it had clearly been ongoing for some time when I arrived at Aldgate, with no Met east of Moorgate, no clockwise Circle and severe delays to the anti-clockwise service - we were sat at a green signal at Aldgate P4 for a while (the driver did make an announcement but the reason wasn't clear as a station announcement was playing at the same time, I'm guessing something to do with making sure we weren't going to stop in the tunnel?). There was a cluster of hi-vi wearing staff at the very western end of Liverpool Street eastbound platform, although it wasn't obvious what they were doing/looking at. There was a packed-looking C stock on the eastbound just outside the station.
The incident was still causing severe delays to the Circle/H&C and a suspension to the Met when I passed through Bank at about 5pm and Baker Street Bakerloo/Jubilee at about 6:30. At Kilburn Park at about 9:30pm the H&C was shown with a good service but with delays (I can't remember the severity) to the Circle. The delays were described as "minor" on both H&C and Circle at Baker Street Jubilee but "severe" at Canning Town (all agreed on the suspension to the Met though).

Began at 12.15. Track circuit failure EB platform lasted all day. Service suspended until 13.40 with services then working through under rule. The Met's City service reversed at Moorgate for the rest of the day.

Sorry I've just noticed my reply to this didn't actually get posted.
At 12:15 I was on the DLR, probably around the Poplar/Westferry area and certainly east of Shadwell. It would have been very helpful to have been told about the suspension/severe delays as I'd have changed my route and gone via Bank and walked from Tottenham Court Road rather than from Euston Square.
