Anyone from the forum in the cab on today (Wed)'s trip? I saw the 1055 and 1128 departures at Royal Oak and Wood Lane respectively, and someone certainly was looking at me in a friendly way, either that or they were just laughing at me Pictures to come soon on my flickr!

Will Boris be at the launch run? It is pretty significant IMO.

Will Boris be at the launch run? It is pretty significant IMO. He was at the launch of the first S8 back in 2010, so I'd assume he'll be there for the S7. Anything for a bit of publicity!

Not sure. I'm going to Cardiff next weekend so I'll probably end up on one when I come back from Paddington knowing my luck! ;D If any of us board the train on day 1, should we all agree to sit in a particular place / identify ourselves in a particular way? For example, the gangway to the east of the Hammersmith-most car, and the adjacent seats? If someone sees a lot of weirdos in such a position, taking photos and pointing out the compressor noise, they'll know to say hi? From Hammersmith won't it be north? So basically, where the guard's seats are on an A stock? I will 99% be there with a friend from another forum, whether I'll make the 1007 is debatable though

I've no idea where the guards sat on A stock, but I suppose so I'll definitely be on the first trip in passenger service, and will try to be on the last

I won't be able to get to Hammersmith by 10:07, but I try to get the first westbound run from Moorgate or Barbican (or Euston Square if I'm a bit late). I've no idea where the guards sat on A stock, but I suppose so Guards on A stock were at the inner end of the rear car.

There had to be more LU/TfL staff on that train than punters... Saw Antje and nobody else on the forum. Where were the rest of ya? Was also nice to avoid a spin cycle doing that bit of line!!

Hi,
Having tasted a full Irish breakfast in Hickeys I travelled dans 700 from Goldhawk Rd to Hammersmith and back to Baker St this morning. First ride on an 'S'. 2 first thoughts/impressions - 1)have never until now seen two people walk side by side through a tube train!Bizarre. 2) No offence intended toward the 'S' stock fans but it seemed like I was in a tram, although it was an extremely smooth tram at that! They'll be good to work on the H&C.

Will the S7 be operating at the 20:28pm - 21:02pm service to Moorgate or does the S7 return back to the depot after 3pm today and stay there? Thanks

Surprised nobody mentioned that the Track Recording Train was in front of the S7 (1210 ex MGT) at Edgware Road

I was too busy being excited that I was in charge of looking after Howard Collins' hi vis jacket for a moment or two while he paused for publicity shots (and I sneaked my own in)

Good pics causton. My incognito attempts in the de-icing car failed miserably in your shot down the train at SBush Market. Left leg and arm clearly visible, damn :-)

wow looks nice - the seating looks more like old C stock a long seats giving more space for standing but i prefer LUL install dynamic route maps - if train diverts off from normal routing - the map could updated to show train route

Was on 21305/306 around 2/3PM. Very nice ride and these are pretty comfortable. Couple of LUL officials near the middle of the train. But the funniest part was when the driver announced at Barbican that the train was going to terminate at the next station. Result: Half the train emptied out. Shows that they dont listen to the DVA announcements And now for the Earlier Faulty train at Barbican............ No Comment if it was the S7

For me, the launch of the S7 Stock for the Inner Circle lines is probably the most extraordinary TfL-related event so far - only a day after spotting the tragic Euston bus crash. It is obvious that the operations team selected running number No. 700 for promotional reasons, but they did not approve the S7 Stock to run beyond Liverpool Street yet. I raced in to try to catch the interior before it filled up instantaneously: this almost certainly made me the very first passenger of the S7 Stock because I was aware that the front and rear doors were to be locked at some stations - some stakeholders forgot about it at Baker Street. I only found a handful of District Dave members because I spent a majority of time with the stakeholders. The press interviewed me about the new fleet and I told them that the S7 Stock demonstrated that TfL is trying to be like Madrid and Barcelona in respect of modernity and cleanliness, and that the C69/77/08 Stock was hot and dirty. I then pointed out that TfL itself should send off the A60/62 Stock in the same manner as the last London trams because of its significance. One of the stakeholders though I was a time traveller because of the familiar colours I wore. Meanwhile, it was more than just the front-of-train shots for me – the launch allowed me to develop some of the first abstract and social angles of Inner Circle line passengers with the new fleet. Okay, what photos should I show you? Oh, here they are... the lighting was poor in tunnel so I had to use ISO 1600 for most of the journey: www.flickr.com/photos/jaggers/sets/72157630453614938Thanks for viewing.

..... driver announced at Barbican that the train was going to terminate at the next station. Result: Half the train emptied out. Shows that they dont listen to the DVA announcements I would have thought it shows not only that they were listening, but also that they realised it's easier to change at Barbican (same platform) rather than at Moorgate (creep into the bay, walk down to the platform end, and through the subway to platfornm 1 just in time to miss the following train)

Does anyone know what the SDO does to the front and rear doors at Baker St? Is it the same for both directions?

I'm uncertain about the rear, but no doors opened in the first carriage
