I haven't seen a train using the recently installed, slightly complex looking, reversing facilities at West Ham. I thought they were going to be used when Whitechapel was reduced to two platforms. I noticed, at least during the Olympics, trains were being reversed at Plaistow and Dagenham East, but didn't see any at West Ham.

There were no timetabled reversers at West Ham during the Olympics.
Whilst West Ham replaces Whitechapel (I don't agree with that statement BTW!!), the service patterns are such that West Ham isn't actually used in the same way Whitechapel was. All H&C trains now run to Barking.
West Ham is only used for service recovery during or following an incident, "rusty rail" moves or planned engineering works.

West Ham will be used on Sunday 23 September when a 10min service will be operated from West Ham-Dagenham East.
