Just a heads up to say that I've been working with Phil Radley on upgrading the Dreadnought kit range for the forthcoming Heljan release of the Met Electric locos.
The plan was to make the kit a lot more realistic and user friendly.
The first of the three coaches is at the master stage and will be reproduced in resin. The body, chassis and seats are one piece and incorporate under frame details such as the vacuum pumps and cylinders, voltage regulator and dynamo. Painstaking research has been conducted with the help of LUL engineers!
The stretcher bars are also going to be one piece castings as they are very fiddly to make up. The only separate items are the buffers, bogies, roof and vacuum hoses.
They range should start to be available from Phil in late Feb, early March. Enjoy!
I've also created a couple of extra items for the range.
Firstly the stretcher bar has been revised to the correct type for Dreadnoughts and Saloon Stock and not the current T stock versions. It is one piece so just slots in behind the solebar. Currently they are a right pain to assemble with a third arm helpful!
Secondly a vacuum hose sprue has been made which can be used for both brake ends and intermediate ends. They can also be used for Bogie Stock which are also in the pipeline.
I'm hoping to start work on the brake coach this weekend.
