Why are some southbound trains held at South Wimbledon to adjust headways just for one stop. I can't see the difference between waiting for one or two minutes at South Wimbledon or in the tunnel before entering Morden.

P It's always preferable, where possible, to regulate trains in platforms as passengers feel more comfortable than when stuck in a tunnel.

And it's not just perception, either. If there's an almighty problem at Morden, everyone on the train in South Wimbledon can just leave the train and walk out of the station. If the train is waiting in the pipe they ... can't.
