Don't know whether I have missed it here or whether it hasn't been recorded, but I noticed yesterday that the former "emergency exit" at the east end of Shadwell DLR is now a public entrance and exit and is further along the viaduct on the same side as the main entrance. Any ideas when this was 'opened' please - my gut thought is that probably around the time of the upgrades for the Olympics, but that is just a guess .....

Either during the olympics or during the addition of the second staircase (maybe both), the station had a one-way system. After that it was back to an emergency exit only. I was vaguely aware that it was now a normal entrance, but it's been a long while since I was at that end of Shadwell station.

well looking at videos - the emergency exit was there in 2014 - going towards canary warf or beckton so another video shows emergency exit gates are gone and signage replaced - its was seen in video 1 - showing end of platform towards canary warf this staircase is same one as used as emergency exit prior years looking at May 2015 video - video 2 - shows the emergency exit is present so the another video shows that was removed recently but no date was known
