I was back at Euston Square today, for the first time since the scissors crossover was installed one stop down the line at King's Cross St. Pancras. While there, I noticed a blind trainstop part-way down the eastbound platform, which I don't think was there before.
I'm assuming this has been installed in relation to the new crossover, but I was wondering if anybody could tell me why it's needed?

A train detained at new crossover junction signal OJ13 (with routes to pfm.1 and pfm.2) will be 8-cars to the rear of this signal. Euston Square station starting signal A201 doesn't have a sufficient overlap to protect a train standing at OJ13, so blind trainstop 2010V has been installed to slow an approaching train, if a train is detained at OJ13. Also, station starting signal A201 will not clear unless the platform track has been occupied for 15 seconds. (a similar arrangement is visible at Paddington OR platform)

As already mentioned its to slow the train down if the train was to SPAD the starter at full speed it could end up the back of the train infront

In addition to this, we also modified A197, the Outer Rail inner home signal. If there is a train ahead at OJ130, the second train will be held at A197 unless OJ130 is clear.
Interestingly, 2010V was not the original name for this trainstop; they were going to call it 200V based on the fact it was in platform 2. One of my comments on the original concept scheme plan was that the identity 200V didn't indicate it's purpose as a draw-up to A201, but also shared its identity with the trainstop associated with A200 on the opposite road. My suggestion of 2010V was accepted, and the rest is history!
