Just a quickie - I commute through Kings Cross- St Pancras every evening towards Baker St on the inner rail. I normally stand at the front of the train waiting for a Met Line train. I'm constantly bemused by the fact that the Circle and H&C S7 trains all stop some way before what I'd call their "board" - the green and black/yellow board that the S stocks seem to have to line up with at other stations (Sorry - I don't know the technical term for it). Anyone know why this is? Was it put up in the wrong place

Maybe there are two stopping marks, one for S7s (C&H) and another (the one you refer to) for S8s (Met).

They are all positioned so that the Train Operator should drive to align the middle of the stop mark with the edge of their windscreen on the side concerned, as viewed from the driving position. So it looks odd from your position standing on the platform. The S7 position on KX Inner Rail is a car back from the S8 position so there isn't open platform near the rear where it can get crowded and a bit of pushing and shoving sometimes happens when the train arrives...
