In the last two months have there been any changes to speed restrictions or the track fixings in the Tooting area?

Recently the track on the SB Jubilee was worked on from Finchley Road to Baker Street and there does not seem to be one block joint audible on that section. As block joints are no longer necessary for signalling post TBTC I would presume they're replacing and welding up a lot of track on both the Norther and Jubilee.

There has been an awful lot of rail-grinding going on over the past few months, (with the storage of a rail grinder in Kennington sidings being much to the annoyance of the instructor operators on the line)!
Whilst the above may be related to your query, I do also recall a temporary speed restriction in the not too distant past for a rail defect in that area, although I am unsure if/when this was cleared.

Many thanks. A colleague who travels in from that area had asked about it, because he says he's very recently noticed a higher approach speed at the platform as well as a change to the noise from the track.
