How did those grab poles pass DDA requirements? I'd have thought the DDA requirements were changed (or evolved, take your pick), so this scheme became acceptable.

The DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) or more precisely Rail Vehicle Accessibility Regulations (RVAR) requires "contrasting" colours, so I presume there is sufficient contrast between the light grey poles and the dark seats/floors/bases to be acceptable. ~~~~

The refurbishment is looking very good. I didn't like just one thing, they could change all seats moquette not just in some places. I expected and also I thought it will be looking more nice with a moquette like that: I agree. I was very disappointed to see the old moquette still in place. The mix of old and new doesn't look very good.

Have they just replaced damaged or threadbare moquette? Seems from the pics, there's is one example of a back replaced & not the seat and one of the seat replaced but not the back. Could also be, as rincew1nd has said, a trial of the two bits running separately to the full jig further away. Have to be honest, it doesn't quite look right this way. A whole carriage in either new or old moquette would be acceptable, but anything else looks a bit charity-shop to me.

I agree with the sentiments that it should all be done, but I'm pleased that we haven't got a variant like that applied to the Bakerloo.

I think the blue clashes terribly with the grey. Actually the Bakerloo version would have worked, as there's grey in that if my memory has it right.

I see there are warning signs for the door's teeth. Presumably to discourage people from trying to get on once the doors are closing. Yes the dragons teeth are to discourage people from trying to get on once the doors are closing. Also the removal of the outside door buttons are to discourage people to press them trying to get doors to reopen, and get too close to trains and getting injured by a train moving , this is an issue on stations without platform edge doors ( PED's ).

At the same time... they have to fund the fare freeze somehow. 🙃 This a £27 million project , it will take two and half years to compete , only one 1996 stock can be worked on at one time due to the intensive use of the Jubliee line fleet.

I am surprised that they did not go the whole way and opt for hard seats, just like on the Hong Kong Metro since 1998. I have used the Hong Kong metro, and do not find the hard seats there to be any problem for me. Using hard seats may be a good money saving idea for TFL to try out, they are almost there with the Central line seats, might as well go the whole way and use hard seats - last far longer - and of course wipe clean in nature.

I think the interior looks smart. The original scheme was a bit funky for me.

It is still buggy in many places: Stratford, North Greenwich, West Hampstead, Wembley Park (to name a few). S7 & S8 DVAs are better IMHO.

They clearly seem to be going back to 'line identity', otherwise the grab bars/poles would be blue á la the 95ts. Then again, the 95ts refresh included the covering up of the superfluous door buttons... clearly money has been a bit tight in this instance, as I see very little difference besides the colour of the poles/bars and maybe the flooring, although that isn't particularly noticeable upon a cursory glance. I kind of agree about the comments RE: DVA. I actually do not mind Celia and the original female voice (the male announcements having been complete overwritten with the former now) but it is the awkward pause between station and destination names that annoys me. "This stations is.............. Canary Wharf. Change here for the DLR." "This train terminates at............. Stratford"

S7 & S8 DVAs are better IMHO. Considering that the S stock CIS (Customer Information System) dates from the late 2000s and the '96 stock DVA (Digital Voice Announcer) dates from the early 1990s, I'm not sure why this is any surprise...
