I’ve always found it odd that there still appear to be no firm plans for rebuilding Euston tube station for HS2. It barely copes wth current passenger volumes as it is. Surely it will need a massive Victoria/Kings X style upgrade with additional ticket hall, step free access etc to cope with demand?
Such things are usually planned years in advance so I’d have thought we’d have heard about it by now. I guess uncertainty over whether Crossrail 2 will happen is a factor.

Until a decision is made to build CR2, I don't expect anything else to happen at Euston: any interim improvements would not only have to be torn up again when CR2 is built, but they would also reduce the financial case for building it in the first place.
Or to look at it the other way, TfL are holding out for the gold plated CR 2, and won't be fobbed off with a cheap and cheerful scheme which would cost less, but be less than ideal.

If and when CR2 is built, Euston will definitely need an upgrade in terms of access.
