Seems the Vic Line is not having a good time these last two days. The service fell over last night with no service Seven Sisters to Walthamstow after 1900. Today the northbound was struggling badly. A train was tipped out at Kings Cross and eventually some trains to Walthamstow turned up but were delayed considerably north of Finsbury Park towards SS. Trains are being routed via the terminating platform at SS with the usual n/b platform taped off. The train I was on didn't berth properly at Seven Sisters so had to moved forward in manual - not had that since the days of 67 stock! Needless to say the journey time was much extended.

The cause is a broken rail in the (normal) northbound platform at Seven Sisters.

The cause was a defective neg shoe on a train which ripped the negative traction rail out of its pots in the platform

The cause was a defective neg shoe on a train which ripped the negative traction rail out of its pots in the platform Was that the original cause? I ask because we seem to have had two incidents (happy to be corrected). One on Thursday which wrecked the service north of SS. The service then appeared to be back to normal Friday AM (if I believe TfL social media) but then the service deteriorated again Friday mid afternoon. My s/b trip on Friday early PM was very smooth and the advertised headway seemed to be running. However a few hours later on the n/b ..... erk! It may have been the case that LU were able to run the s/b well while coping with a slow, forever stopping n/b service forced via platform 4? (centre road) at Seven Sisters. However that would quite a feat given any perturbation tends to affect both roads fairly quickly.
