Central line trains were not stopping at Bank this weekend. When I passed through eastbound this evening, it looked like there were two tripods on the platform of the sort used to raise or lower heavy materials. At least one (the eastern one) was placed over what appeared to be an open hatch in the platform.
Does anyone know what was being done?

On Saturday there were a lot of people in bright orange Hi-Viz clothing and hard hats on both Central Line platforms poking around the "inverts" (the spaces below the platforms). As the Central Line is a fair distance away from the Northern Line I'm not sure how that could be connected.

Chris M , The latest update from TfL's internal reports a day or so ago notes that they, "are hand-mining tunnels at various interfaces with the existing station tunnels, and have started the construction of the walls and columns for the new station entrance". I assume that the width of the platform tunnels doesn't permit safe working whilst this work takes place much like Kennington.
