A 2014 look around what was once a state of the art control room but much like Earl’s Court, was ageing as yesterday’s vision of the future always seems to prematurely do. 2014 only left parts of the Northern line under the jurisdiction of Coburg Street the Victoria line having migrated to Northumberland Park some years before. Allan Hoare, a stalwart of the Northern shows us through the still operating Interlocking Machine Rooms something that is soon to become a thing of the past.

IMR’s will be around at least 10 years yet maybe more remember the Piccadilly and Bakerloo lines still use this old dated but reliable technology.
