A large closure coming up over the May Bank Holiday weekend that will close the Piccadilly line West of Hammersmith (some trains will reverse at Down St) and the District line West of Turnham Green.
What work is being done?
Thanks in advance, G.A

No I don’t know the sections of track, seeing it’s over 3 days, must be a large job, best look on Twitter on the days as they put up photos of the work being done.

Ballast track renewal works at Acton Town, track and drainage works between Boston Manor and Osterley, and step-free access work at Sudbury Town.
Obviously there's nowhere else between Hammersmith and Acton to turn the service around.

MoreToJack , Thankyou Dstock7080 , Ah, yes I've seen that map a good may times over the numerous contingency meetings LU have been having with various departments at Heathrow. Best part of eight to twelve months went into planning for the additional coach and bus movements around the Heathrow Central and peripheral complexes.

Moat of the heavier works used to be done on Saturday nights. Now with night tube obviously something has to give to get the bigger jobs done.
With only approx 2 hours of track access during Sun to Thurs nights you can appreciate not alot in real terms get done hence the need for closures like this
