It's not related to the specific photographs used - the direction they were taken is coincidence.

Maybe to do 2ith Rivers, Blacwall and the River Thames, Deptford Bridge and River Ravensbourne, Hanwell and River Brent, that just leaves Northwich Park with no River except a spring rising in the park.

All stations are non interchange with other lines except Northwick Park, which has a walking interchange with Kenton.

They're all one stop from a NR interchange except for Blackwall which is one stop from an interchange with another DLR route.

Link: These stations are between interchange stations 1 and 2 stops away Blackwall - Neither of the closest interchanges are with National Rail services.
